You can bring your dog for free if you are camping in your own tent. When staying as part of a Camping & Cabins booking, dogs are permitted in the public areas within the hostel (except in kitchens).

A former holiday home built in the 1930s, YHA Treyarnon Bay offers vibrant and comfortable accommodation with a cosy atmosphere. This property is perfect spot for seaside escapes.

Where you'll sleep

Across the entire building there is a total of 17 bedrooms. The bedrooms are situated on two floors.

Ground floor

Two en-suite rooms that sleep up to 3 people each. They include a high sleeper bunk with a double bed underneath.

One en-suite room that sleeps up to 4 people. It includes 2 sets of bunk beds.

One en-suite room that sleeps up to 5 people. It includes 1 set of bunk beds and a high sleeper bunk with a double bed underneath.

First floor

Four rooms that sleep up to 3 people each. They include a high sleeper bunk with a double bed underneath.

Kitchen and dining

The kitchen is located on the ground floor and consists of 2 cooking stations including a range of conveniences listed below.

Kitchen appliances: 4 fridges with freezer space, mini fridge, kettle, oven, refrigerator, stove and toaster.

Kitchenware: dishes and cutlery, kitchen utensils, pots, pans and crockery.

Cleaning basics: anti-bacterial spray, bin bags, cloths, paper towels, sponges, washing up liquid.

Located on the ground floor, the dining room seats up to 35 people. An additional dining room is available at rear of hostel, seating up to 25 people.

A highchair is available.

Lounge

The lounge is located on the ground floor and seats up to 12 people with tub chairs and two sofas. There is also a log fire as well as the central heating.

The lounge can double as an additional dining space.

Bathrooms

Across the entire building there is a total of 12 internal bathrooms.

Outdoors

Outside is a large garden with beautiful sea view and year round amazing sunsets.

The garden is surrounded by high hedges but is accessible from the hostel driveway.

Just 50m from the sea, and offering some of the best coastal views of any YHA hostel, YHA Treyarnon Bay is a lively, mid-sized hostel on the north Cornwall coast. The hostel has something for every hour of the day for guests of all ages, from gig nights to surf lessons, as well as the excellent Trey Bay cafe.

Treyarnon Bay has a popular, family friendly beach, a great spot for bodyboarding and surfing, and the ever-popular seaside town of Padstow is just 4 miles away.

Hostel need to know

Reception opening hours: From 07:30 - 22:00.

Food and drink: Breakfast is served to guests from 07:30 – 09:00 on weekdays and 07:30 – 10:00 at weekends. Meals are also available from 10:00 – 20:30.

Licensed bar: This hostel has a licensed bar offering a range of alcohol and soft drinks. It is not possible for guests to bring their own alcohol, except when hiring the whole hostel through YHA Exclusive Hire.

Self-catering: Guests have access to a self-catering kitchen.

Café opening hours: Trey Bay Café & Bar is open to the public from 11:00 - 20:30, Monday to Sunday.

Parking: There is parking at the hostel. If you are a hostel guest, or a café customer, you will need to enter your registration details at reception upon arrival.

WiFi: Free WiFi is available in social spaces.

Dogs: Dogs can stay on our campsite and in our bell tents. There is a £5 charge per dog per night for our bell tent accommodation which is payable upon arrival. You can bring your dog for free if you are camping in your own tent. Pets are not permitted in the hostel accommodation at YHA Treyarnon Bay, however, assistance dogs are welcome throughout.

Volunteering

Volunteering with YHA is a fantastic way to have fun, learn new skills, boost your CV and travel to different places. We have a variety of different opportunities to choose from and volunteering roles to suit everyone.  

The tasks are varied and in return you will meet some great people, who both work and stay in our hostels, as well as enjoying your time off discovering the local area and attractions.

History

A former holiday home built in the 30's, YHA Treyarnon Bay has been a hostel for over 50 years. The Hostel, refurbished in 2004, now sleeps 68 in 16 rooms and maintains a cosy, homely feel. The hostel boasts spacious grounds, just 50 metres from the sea, with beautiful views across the bay and rugged cliff tops.

Meet the team

Our team here changes in number through the year but there is always an amazing force behind the work they do. Our team have an amazing knowledge of walks, beaches, surf, and other local know-how to help you find your way on your adventure.

Manager recommends: Closer to home take a short amble over to Constantine Bay at low tide for a mini-beast hunt or down to Treyarnon Bay for some fun bodyboarding and a dip in the tide pool. If you fancied something a little further afield, get your boots and start walking! We are super lucky to be located on the South West Coast path. You can travel north to Padstow or head over the other side of the Bay towards Newquay. You certainly will not be disappointed with the view!
