How to get here

The approach to the hostel is on a level, paved area straight into the hostel entrance. Daytime access is through double automatic doors into The Sill: National Landscape Discovery Centre. After hours, the hostel entrance is through a gate followed by a single pull door. Access is through an intercom system and assistance with the door can be provided by reception staff.

By car: Coming East or West along access via A69 and follow signs to ‘The Sill’. We are located right next to the Twice Brewed pub, just off Military Road.

By rail: The nearest rail station is at Haltwhistle, approximately 8 miles away. Taxis can be caught from the railway station. Accessible taxis can be booked in advance.

By bus: The nearest bus stop is located within the car park of the hostel grounds (runs April to September only). For info, search AD122 Northumberland Bus.

By plane: The nearest major airport is Newcastle. There is a metro connection into the city enabling people to pick up the rail network Newcastle to Carlisle line.

By sea: The nearest ferry terminal is DFDS at Newcastle.
