Originally an inn nestled at the foot of Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon), YHA Snowdon Ranger is ideally located for exploring the mountains, valleys and lakes on an adventure walking holiday with loved ones.

First floor

One room that sleeps up to 1 person. It includes a single bed.

Three rooms that sleep up to 4 people each. They include 2 sets of bunk beds.

One room that sleeps up to 2 people. It includes 2 single beds.

One room that sleeps up to 2 people. It includes 1 set of bunk beds.

The kitchen is located on the ground floor and includes a range of conveniences listed below.

Kitchen appliances: clothes airer, grill, kettle, microwave, 2 ovens, refrigerator (with freezer compartment), stove, toaster, washing machine.

Kitchenware: dishes and cutlery for 40 people, kitchen utensils, pots, pans.

Cleaning basics: anti-bacterial spray, bin bags, cloths, paper towels, soap, sponges, tea towels, washing up liquid.

Located on the ground floor, the dining room seats up to 40 people.

A highchair is available.

Lounge

The lounge is located on the ground floor and seats up to 12 people with comfy sofas, chairs and coffee tables.

There is a games room on the first floor with a pool table.

Across the entire building there is a total of six bathrooms.

The hostel is set in an area steeped in the culture of Wales with the village of Beddgelert, Sygun Copper Mine, Caernarfon Castle and the Welsh Highland Railway all nearby. From the front door of the hostel, it's a short walk to the start of the Snowdon Ranger Path up to the summit of Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) – it’s one of the easier routes and is suitable for most ability levels. In the summer months, why not take a swim in the lake from our own beach?

History

YHA Snowdon Ranger is a former inn, named after one of the first guides to show people to the summit. It has now been a youth hostel for over 75 years. It is set in an area steeped in Welsh history with the village of Beddgelert 5 miles to the south and the World Heritage town of Caernarfon 8 miles to the north.
