As we are self catering we have a fully fitted kitchen with a large fridge and smaller freezer compartment. Also, a small fridge with similar split. There are two stand alone cookers with oven and grill, and another four burner hob sits on one of the bases. We have one microwave, two toasters both able to toast four slices, and two electric kettles. The usual stock of plates, cups or mugs, dinner plates, smaller plates and cutlery tray are as standard i.e. knives, forks, dessert spoons and tea spoons. Cooking implements are there too. There are various pots and pans sufficient to cater for the number of guests who stay.
We have a small shop selling a range of ready meals, bread, milk, cereals and snacks.
We're backed by a wooded headland for shady walks and beautiful spring and early summer flowers. We also sit on the Wales Coastal Path, ideally situated for walks to Rhossili and Oxwich beaches. Look out for boat trips from the beach in Summer, paddle boarding hire and lessons in the village.

Formerly a lifeboat station which was open in 1834, in response to the many shipwrecks in this busy part of the Bristol Channel. The station operated until 1919, when it was closed and replaced by a station in Mumbles. The building appears to have had many uses from a tea shop to a boatbuilders shed until it was gifted to the YHA by the Penrice estate in 1951. There is evidence of local industries, quarrying , salt extraction and oyster farming, plus the mysterious Culver Hole is just around the corner. The surrounding country is managed by the Nastional Trust, and there are numerous walks of varying lengths from the hostel.
Meet the team
Manager Dianne Cox, loves gardening (difficult here, but not impossible!), travelling by train and bicycle and any live entertainment. Best part of job is meeting new people and exchanging stories and ideas.
Manager recommends: After a day's walking or watersports, watch the sunset over Rhossili beach or have a campfire on the beach right outside the hostel. Swansea Community Farm is the only city farm in Wales. Not only is it a place for people to escape the hurly-burly of city life, it has a clear aim to educate all ages on the environment, organic gardening and animal care. Drop in to take a look!
