How to get here

By car and coach: Ilam is situated 6 miles from Ashbourne. From Ilam village centre, enter National Trust Country Park and follow the driveway. Parking is free for National Trust members. All other guests can purchase a discounted parking ticket from reception and make use of the National Trust car park adjacent to the hostel.

By train: The nearest rail stations are Uttoxeter (15 miles away), Belper (17 miles away) and Buxton or Derby (both 20 miles away).

By bus: There are no regular bus services that run to the hostel. Local transport services offer flexible and accessible buses that can pick you up from the hostel doorstep. These buses must be pre-booked. Derbyshire Connect covers the Derbyshire area and Moorlands Connect covers the Staffordshire area including Alton Towers.
