Beer, Devon, EX12 3LL
This Arts and Crafts property with child-friendly facilities on the edge of the village of Beer is a great accommodation choice for cheap family holidays and school trips. The Youth Hostel is located on the stunningly beautiful Jurassic coast, now listed as a world heritage site.
It’s great for geology, rock pools and fossil hunting, and of course, both walking and photography. The hostel has extensive and attractive private grounds for you to explore, and the surrounding area is populated with local legends about smugglers and pirates.
Why guests love YHA Beer
Accommodation at YHA Beer
YHA Beer has 39 beds in a selection of private and dorm rooms, one of which is en-suite. There are also camping pitches for those who love the great outdoors. The Jurassic Coast hostel is set in a light and airy country house in its own tranquil grounds on the edge of the fishing village of Beer, and is perfect for an activity break or for walking along the nearby the South West Coastal Path. Many of the features in the hostel are original, including the parquet flooring.
There is a cosy TV lounge where you can relax in the evenings, and a drying room where you can hang your soggy walking trousers or park your muddy boots.
The small, yet intuitively laid out self-catering kitchen, just off the dining room, is fitted with three domestic ovens.
Get all the fun of camping but without any of the set up stresses with these beautiful bell tents - part of the YHA Glamping experience. These spacious tipi-like tents are fully kitted out with a double futon bed and two single futons plus all bedding and can sleep four or five people. They also have eco-friendly solar lighting and comfy bean bags for you to chill out on during the day plus bedside tables, a coffee table, rugs and soft flooring.
There are two standard bell tents at YHA Beer and bell tent guests will have full use of the hostel's facilities. YHA Beer's bell tents are available to book for stays between July and the end of September.
Please note that camping is sold per person and so, during the booking process, you will need to select the number of people that you wish to camp.
Set in the grounds of this beautiful arts and crafts house, YHA Beer offers a unique campsite on the hillside overlooking this picturesque village and even has a sea view! This small site is just metres from the main hostel building. Ideal for individual travellers, families and groups, the site is just a 10 minute stroll from the village and supplies can be purchased from the local shop - fresh fish is even available direct from the fishermen on the beach! Campers have 24 hour access to all of the hostel facilities. There are barbecue facilities on site and guests are politely asked not to bring their own BBQ equipment. Campfires are strictly prohibited.
