How to get here

By car: Take the M6 junction 36, follow A591 via Windermere to Waterhead. The hostel is one mile south of Ambleside town.

This car park is controlled by an ANPR parking system. Upon arrival, you will need to validate your presence by entering your car's registration number at reception. Charges apply though overnight guests benefit from a discounted rate of £5 per vehicle for 24 hours. To claim these rates, please notify reception once you've parked.

If this is full, there is limited on-street parking in front of the pier and on Lake Road (three-minute walk). There is also a pay and display car park two minutes' walk from the hostel on Borrans Road.

By bus: Alight at the Waterhead Hotel. The hostel is located on the waterfront to the left of the pier.

By train: Alight at Windermere. Directly outside of the train station, take the 555 bus and alight at the Waterhead Hotel. The hostel is located on the waterfront to the left of the pier.

By coach: The nearest National Express coach stop is at Ambleside, a mile away.
