Heating
Heating is supplied in our bell tents. One free pack of wood is provided for the wood burner per stay (additional packs can be purchased from reception).
Dogs
Dogs can stay on our campsite and in our bell tents and Landpods. There is a £5 charge per dog per night for our bell tent accommodation which is payable upon arrival. You can bring your dog for free if you are camping in your own tent. When staying as part of a Camping & Cabins booking, dogs are permitted in the public areas within the hostel (except in kitchens).
Guest access
Guests have use of the whole hostel during public opening hours. There is 24-hour access to toilets and showers in the courtyard block. Campers are welcome to use the self-catering kitchen and seating area during open hours.

YHA Wye Valley is a fantastic rural retreat. The hostel has original features including grand fireplaces and large, picture windows where you can admire the beautiful views and wildlife. Perfect for peaceful breaks with family and friends.

Where you'll sleep

Across the entire building there is a total of 15 bedrooms. Each room includes a sink and has shared bathroom facilities.

Main building
Ground floor

Two rooms that sleep up to 4 people each (Alder and Willow). They include 2 sets of bunk beds.

One room that sleeps up to 6 people (Hawthorn). It includes 3 sets of bunk beds.

First floor

One room that sleeps up to 2 people (Holly). It includes a set of bunk beds.

One room that sleeps up to 4 people (Beech). They include 2 sets of bunk beds.

Three rooms that sleep up to 6 people each (Cherry, Walnut and Oak). They include 3 sets of bunk beds.

One room that sleeps up to 8 people (Cedar). It includes 4 sets of bunk beds.

Annexe
Ground floor

One room that sleeps up to 6 people (Maple). It includes 3 sets of bunk beds.

One room that sleeps up to 10 people (Ash). It includes 5 sets of bunk beds.

First floor

Two rooms that sleep up to 2 people each (Spruce and Yew). They include a set of bunk beds.

Two rooms that sleep up to 4 people each (Larch and Pine). They include 2 sets of bunk beds.

A cot is available.


Shared spaces

Kitchen and dining

The large kitchen is located on the basement floor and includes a range of conveniences listed below.

Kitchen appliances: clothes airer, freezer, iron and board, 2 kettles, 2 microwaves, 3 mini fridges, 2 ovens, refrigerator, stove, toaster, tumble dryer, washing machine.

Kitchenware: dishes and cutlery for, kitchen utensils, pots, pans.

Cleaning basics: anti-bacterial spray, cloths, paper towels, sponges, washing up liquid.

Located on the basement floor, the largest dining room seats up to 36 people. There is a separate smaller dining room with seating for up to 24 guests, plus seating in the kitchen for up to 12 guests.

A highchair is available.

Lounge

There are two lounges on the ground floor. Each provides seating for up to 10 guests, and one has a TV.

Bathrooms

Across the entire building there is a total of seven bathrooms.

Toilet paper is provided and hand soap is available next to all sinks.

Outdoors

Outside is an extra-large garden.

The garden is not enclosed.

Guests have full access to the garden.

Hostel need to know

Reception opening hours: From 07:30 - 10:00 and 17:00 - 22:00.

Food and drink: Breakfast is served to guests daily from 07:30 – 09:00. Meals are also available from 17:00 – 20:00.

Licensed bar: This hostel has a licensed bar offering a range of alcohol and soft drinks. It is not possible for guests to bring their own alcohol, except when hiring the whole hostel through YHA Exclusive Hire.

Self-catering: Guests have access to a self-catering kitchen.

Parking: There is parking at the hostel. The hostel can can only be reached by a single track lane, the last 800m of which are narrow and steep with a sharp bend and uneven road surface. It is accessible to all cars, vans and minibuses but coaches and larger vehicles will need to arrange alternative drop off points direct with the hostel.

WiFi: Free WiFi is available in shared social spaces.

Dogs: Dogs can stay on our campsite and in our bell tents. There is a £5 charge per dog per night for our bell tent accommodation which is payable upon arrival. You can bring your dog for free if you are camping in your own tent. Pets are not permitted in the hostel accommodation at YHA Wye Valley. Assistance dogs are welcome throughout.
