Changing spaces

YHA The Sill at Hadrian's Wall exterior

We are committed to ensuring that everything we earn is invested back into YHA to allow us to continue to offer everyone the chance to experience what we do.

Part of this investment means spending money on refurbishing our hostels. Since 2011, we have invested over £40m to ensure that our hostels remain at the high standards we know our guests expect.

Brand new hostels

YHA Chester Trafford Hall exterior

In summer 2021, we were delighted to be able to welcome a brand new hostel to the network: YHA Chester Trafford Hall.

Situated just outside the city centre of Chester, this hostel was originally built in 1756 and combines the grandeur of a glorious Georgian house with modern, sustainable facilities.

Guests can make full use of shared spaces in the hall, including a spacious lounge, dining area and fun games room. Bedrooms are available in our eco-friendly chalet accommodation, based near the hall and powered by renewable energy. There are also 14 acres of organic grounds complete with nature walks and landscaped gardens to explore.
