Types of Membership

Under 26 Membership
Young, restless and planning to see the world - membership for young travellers aged 25 and under. For £9.95, you get the membership card valid around the world and offers and promotions at Youth Hostels round the globe. If you’re on your travels in some of the world’s most far-flung corners you don’t want to have to worry about renewing your YHA membership each year. We offer two-year and three-year options for £16.50 and £20.95. To join click here.
Individual Membership
Your passport to travel for anyone of any age for just £15.95 includes the Accommodation Guide to Youth Hostels in England and Wales, and Discover magazine. To join click here.
Joint/Family Membership
For partners, siblings and couples living at the same address, both aged 18 and over for only £22.95. Accompanying children and young people under 18 years of age are covered by this card. Young people under 18 require no membership of their own, unless they want to travel independently. To join click here.
Group Membership
Formally constituted adult groups can join as group members for £25.50. To join click here.
Young Persons Group
Groups, including schools, youth groups and organisations working with young people under the age of 26 can join as a Young Person’s Group for just £10 per year. To apply for a Young Person’s Group Membership, download the printable form and send to Customer Services, YHA (England and Wales) Ltd, Trevelyan House, Matlock, Derbyshire, DE4 3YH. When applying you’ll need to include documentary evidence such as a letterhead, Charity, Company or VAT number with your remittance.
Children and Young People
Children and young people under 18 years of age travelling with members are covered by the accompanying member’s card. Young people under 18 require no membership of their own, unless they want to travel independently. Young people aged 16 –17 who want to travel independently must join YHA and have a choice of Under 26 Membership or Individual Membership.
Overseas visitors
If you are not a resident of England and Wales and not a member of a Hostelling International association, don’t worry. You can join on arrival at any YHA Youth Hostel for £10.00 per year and your card will enable you to stay at any Hostelling International Youth Hostel in the world.
