Be inspired and
YHA provides budget accommodation for individuals, families and groups. We aim to inspire all, especially young people, to broaden their horizons, gaining knowledge and independence through new experiences of adventure and discovery.
YHA is a leading charity and can provide a number of amazing volunteering opportunities to people of all ages. YHA makes volunteering accessible and easy for all, as we offer help with travel expenses and free stays for volunteers taking part in residential opportunities. We can even offer help with discounted meals! Volunteering is a fantastic way to have fun, learn new skills, meet new people, boost your CV and give something back.
What makes YHA special is the amount of choice available to volunteers: you choose when, where and how you give your time to support the YHA. We have a huge range of opportunities that will suit all interests and skills. We run opportunities throughout the year, so you can fit your volunteering around your life. You can volunteer on your doorstep at your local hostel, or at one of our many beautiful hostels throughout England and Wales. For more information, please click on one of the links below. Exciting new area volunteer roles
Next year YHA is launching a new initiative to inspire more people to support YHA in their local area and we are looking for at least three people to take on a new volunteer role of Support Group Coordinator. Two ares selected to trial the new roles are in the Lake District and the South East. The Coordinators will be able to help shape volunteer opportunities in their patch by meeting with YHA staff and will help to improve the recognition of volunteers by capturing and sharing their stories. They will also invite supporters to regular supporter forums so they can meet, socialise and discuss ways to support YHA.
More information about this new role is available here or can be obtained by emailing the team. All enquiries should be directed to firstname.lastname@example.org. The application deadline for the role is Sunday 21st December and informal interviews will take place in January 2015. We hope volunteers will be able to start in late January.
