Telegraph Hay Winter Festival returns to Powys
The 2012 Telegraph Hay Winter Festival returns later this month, bringing with it a range of interesting events to the idyllic surroundings of Hay-on-Wye.
The small market town in Powys, Wales will host music, crafts, debate and cooking tips, among many other offerings including some famous names. One of the big features sees actress and broadcaster Emma Kennedy offering her own take on the cult TV drama The Killing, which is soon to begin its third series on the BBC.
BBC political editor Nick Robinson will be talking to Peter Florence, and there will also be a talk on poverty featuring Big Issue founder John Bird. A total of 29 events span the three days, including puppet theatres, stand-up comedy, book discussions and writing workshops. Music is provided by Bandemonium and The Remi Harris Quartet.
Visitors to the festival can utilise YHA facilities at Brecon, and combine the trip with a chance to explore some of the finest natural scenery in Wales. There are a number of hiking routes in the area, along with the chance to enjoy more vigorous activities such as climbing and watersports. Events begin on Friday November 30th, and continue through Saturday and Sunday.
