Hostel of the Week Archive: YHA London St Pancras

You can't miss the new bright green front of YHA London St Pancras - it's like a beacon for weary travellers! Not only is our bustling hostel just across the road from King's Cross station, we've been named one of the "World's Best Family-Friendly Hostels" by the Huffington Post. Whether you're stopping over during your international journey or exploring Camden on a budget city break, we're perfectly connected to London's best attractions.

The Hostel

From coffee loyalty cards to swipe card security, our cosmopolitan Youth Hostel has all the mod cons you'd expect in the heart of London. Drop your bags and relax with a tasty bowl of nachos and a jug of Pimms in our stylish cafe and spot the famous landmarks in our decor. YHA London St Pancras is a multicultural melting pot and we're a great place to meet and hang out with fellow travellers. We have safe lockers to store your luggage, 24 hour access for early Eurostar trains and stunning views of St Pancras station from our top floor meeting rooms - perfect for business travel. Our dynamic staff are on hand to help you get the best out of the capital, so ask us about some awesome things to do around here. Love movies, drinks and free popcorn? Join us on Tuesdays for Movie Night in our spacious TV lounge upstairs; we'll even let you vote for your fave film. We've got a big stack of board games to chill out with, computers to use in our cafe and (wait for it) brand new mattresses for sweet dreams. If you saw our bunk bed installation in St Pancras International station, now is a fab time to swing by and stay with us for real. We love welcoming guests from around the globe and hearing the stories you have to tell.

City Life

We are THE hostel to explore Camden Market and you can get there from us in under 10 minutes on the tube. Camden's sprawling web of alternative fashions, quirky open-air stalls and hipster bars is London's creative heart - you'll find every subculture out to play here. Why not join YHA guests for a Camden Pub Crawl and make some new friends? King's Cross isn't just a travel hub for the rest of the city; there's lots happening on YHA London St Pancras' doorstep. Lend a hand at a Twilight Gardening session at the King's Cross Pond Club for a chance to unwind and mix with the local community. The Classic Car Boot Sale parks up in October near us too, showcasing vintage shopping, music and entertainment from timeless vehicles. Get high street therapy at The Brunswick Centre or treat yourself to the pretty boutiques inside St Pancras station itself. The Booking Office Bar is a spectacular setting for bespoke cocktails and luxurious British dishes, or head to Cubitt Square for some of London's most exciting street food. For an amazing night out nearby, sample the craft beers and live jazz of the Queen's Head pub, or party until the early hours with the DJs of The Big Chill House.

Family Attractions

With the Euston tube and train just minutes away, the whole of London (and beyond) is open to you. Unmissable attractions like the London Eye, Madame Tussauds and the London Dungeon are all easy to travel to from YHA London St Pancras and we offer discounted tickets for many top names. Need to pick up some wizarding gear? Spellbind the whole family with a trip to the Harry Potter shop at Platform 9 3/4 - just across the road at King's Cross station! Or explore the world's knowledge at The British Library; the ultimate place to study and a home to literary treasures spanning hundreds of years. The British Museum is within walking distance too, packed with a vast collection of artefacts like Egyptian mummies, the Rosetta Stone and ever-changing art galleries. And did we mention it's completely free? School trips can brush up on their English and get an unrivalled look into Victorian history at the Charles Dickens Museum. For something different, the popular London Loo Tour is more than your bog standard walk and offers a fun look into public sanitation. We love the nearby Wellcome Collection - a curious exhibition venue exploring the links between medicine, life and art.

Walking and Cycling

Don't stroll into London on your own - join us for the Undiscovered London walking tour and get picked up from YHA London St Pancras' doorstep. This free two hour walk is a great way to bond with guests and you'll see impressive sights like Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey and the Changing of the Guard. If you fancy a morning jog, the beautiful Regent's Park is less than a mile away and includes sports facilities, lush gardens and London Zoo. On Thursday nights we do an evening bike ride from the hostel, so book a space at reception and pedal your worries away with a troop of cyclists. Santander Cycles (or Boris Bikes to our locals!) are also available to hire all over the city.
