YHA Sherwood Forest

This modern hostel is on the edge of Robin Hood’s fabled territory. YHA Sherwood Forest is a lively hostel  with lots of walking and cycling routes within easy reach.  Look out for personal touches celebrating the legendary Robin Hood!

The visitor centre and majestic Major Oak (Tree of the Year for 2014) are nearby, as well as the village of Edwinstowe. The Sherwood Forest National Nature Reserve is a 450 acre country park and home to a fascinating ecosystem.  Some of the veteran oak trees, including the Major Oak, are 900 years old. At certain times of the year the Reserve hosts special events, such as a Halloween Trail and Husky racing.

Volunteering with YHA is a fantastic way to have fun, learn new skills, boost your CV and travel to different places. We have a variety of different opportunities to choose from and volunteering roles to suit everyone.

The tasks are varied and in return you will meet some great people, who both work and stay in our hostels, as well as enjoying your time off discovering the local area and attractions.
