Edale
YHA Edale sits on the doorstep of the Classic Edale Route, which includes the Jacob’s ladder climb or descent. Covering 14.5 miles it’s a great challenge for expert mountain bikers.
Castleton
Located in the Hope Valley on the edge of this popular village, YHA Castleton makes a great base for mountain bikers. The difficult Hope Valley Eastern Tour and Eyam extended figure of eight routes are both close by.
Kings (Dolgellau)
YHA Kings is situated in Snowdonia National Park and just a stone’s throw away from some of the best mountain biking terrain in the UK. A variety of routes start nearby ranging from easy to severe in difficulty.
Malham
At the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, YHA Malham sits on the Yorkshire Dales Cycleway and offers something to suit all ages and abilities.
Kielder
Kielder Forest boasts over 110km of varying grade cycle trails, including new red grade and black grade mountain bike routes opened in 2007. Bike hire can be arranged from YHA Kielder
Slaidburn
YHA Slaidburn is located in the middle of the Forest of Bowland, surrounded by an excellent network of cycle paths and off-road trails. Bike hire can be arranged locally and cycle route maps are available from the hostel.

Ideally located in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, YHA Kettlewell is well placed for mountain bike enthusiasts. Difficult routes start on the doorstep taking in stunning scenery along the way.
Helmsley
On the edge of the Yorkshire Moors, YHA Helmsley makes a great base for exploring the area by bike. There are plenty of routes suitable for all ages and abilities.
Brecon
The Brecon Beacons National Park is a haven for experienced mountain bikers as well as families and beginners. Whatever your ability you can be sure that you’ll be riding through some stunning scenery.
Hawkshead
YHA Hawkshead makes the perfect base to explore some of the best mountain biking Britain can offer. Grizedale Forest offers some really challenging routes, while families can also enjoy easier off road cycling.
