Description:
This hostel is a former inn dating from 1600 with beamed ceilings and a cosy open fire, and has been refurbished to provide a comfortable and memorable place to stay. The village of Edmundbyers is surrounded by a 360-degree panorama of heather moorland. Active outdoor folk will be keen to explore the country lanes and moorland of this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It’s only quarter of a mile from Derwent Reservoir which is ideal for watersports and trout fishing. All types of walker will be happy here - visit the picturesque village of Blanchland for a lowland stroll, or head on to the rugged uplands or to Hadrian’s Wall for a day’s hike.
