Description:

Approached by a 0.75-mile track from the village of Glenridding, YHA Helvellyn is in an isolated and peaceful spot, 900 feet above sea level. Enjoy a hike up Helvellyn or the surrounding peaks or, for less strenuous walking, try the scenic lakeshore paths around Ullswater. Steam boat trips on the lake are also popular.

Great for:
Groups, families, couples individuals. The best ascents of Helvellyn start from outside our door.

Need to know:
The track to the hostel is suitable for cars and minibuses, but not coaches, ask hostel for details.
