The Hostel is situated next to the Abbey and the famous St Mary's church & graveyard - Famous for Bram Stoker's 'Dracula'. There are museums dedicated to Captain Cook, Whitby history & fossils and Whitby 'Jet'. The safe and sandy beaches are great for children and the town offers various festivals throughout the year, including the twice yearly Goth weekends, remaining a lively resort even in winter. Situated on the Cleveland way, there are excellent cliff-top walks locally. Whitby was voted the 'country's best day out' by Travelmail readers in 2008.
