This is the base to explore the delightful Upper Eden Valley, an unspoilt area of green fields and small villages among beautiful Pennine fells. There are a host of good walks and cycle rides in a variety of settings. Further afield you can explore all of northern England - the Lake District, North Pennines and Yorkshire Dales are all on the doorstep. After all that you can unwind in the small, market town with its pubs, tea-rooms and small individual shops.
Local activities include fell walking, cycling on the W2W cycle route, canoeing, golf, fishing and paragliding.
