"Homely former inn nestling at the foot of Snowdon with lake for swimming"
Attempt the 3,560 ft ascent up Wales' highest mountain straight from our front door. In summer, guests can cool off with a swim in the lake from our own beach. There are plenty of hills nearby plus Beddgelert, Sygun Copper Mine and Portmerion.
The Welsh Highland Railway can take you on a narrow gauge steam journey from the halt behind YHA Snowdon Ranger into the World Heritage town of Caernarfon with it's magnificent castle.

YHA Snowdon Ranger is on roadside location, the A4085 Caernarfon-Beddgelert road. Parking opposite property and car park 50 yards away.

- Small step into main building entrance. (5cm)
- Main entrance into hostel has door opening outwards and on closer.
- Main Building - The ground floor is all on the same level, facilities are a self-catering kitchen, dining room, lounge and drying room. The bedrooms are all on the first floor which are reached by a double flight staircase.
- Annexe Building – Step access to annexe building (14cm). Facilities are two 4-bedded rooms with toilet and shower. Step up to shower (22cm).
- Good colour contrast to floor, walls and doorways throughout.
- Bedrooms clearly signed with raised room numbers.
- Loop system available at reception.
- No smoking or pets (assistance dogs welcome)
- No mobile phone reception. Pay phone available.
- S4 Caernarfon-Beddgelert bus-stop outside hostel. Last bus from Caernarfon 6.15pm.
- Good natural and general lighting in all areas of the hostel.
- Emergency night staff on duty.
- Emergency lighting and fire alarms fitted. We ensure all guests are evacuated in the event of fire or any emergency requiring evacuation.
- Disability awareness courses as part of the Welcome Host scheme are undertaken by all of our staff.
