Access Statement
This statement describes the facilities and services we provide at YHA Port Eynon (Ordnance Survey Map 159; Grid Reference SS468848)
- Nearest town is Swansea – 16 miles
- Approached off A4118, through the centre of Port Eynon village following signs to the Youth Hostel. General car park clearly signposted; terms and conditions to be adhered to.
- By rail – nearest train station is Swansea, 16 miles, then take bus as detailed below.
- By bus – Pullman Coaches 118 from Swansea Quadrant Bus Station (114/119 on Sundays and Bank Holidays)
- Walk down track, over a field (about 400m in total) and down 7 narrow stone steps to YHA Port Eynon entrance. You can avoid the steps by continuing through the field and taking a narrow pathway round the back.
- Main entrance to the building has a standard width door.
- The ground floor comprises the self-catering kitchen, dining room/lounge, showers, toilets, a 4-bed room and a 6-bed room. The first floor bedrooms are reached by a staircase.
- Good colour contrast to floor, walls and doorways throughout.
- Bedrooms clearly signed with room names.
- Large print information can be provided on request.
- No smoking or pets (service dogs welcome)
- Disability awareness courses as part of the Welcome Host scheme have been undertaken by the manager.
- The Orange mobile phone network is the most useable in the area around YHA Port Eynon. Other networks have intermittent success.
