Poppit Sands Access Statement

• From Cardigan follow signs towards St Dogmeals (B4546) and then to Poppit Sands. Drive past turning for car park on left hand side and keep following the road towards the Lifeboat station. Hostel sign posted from bottom of hill. Follow narrow road for about ½ mile. Hostel on Right hand side of road.
• Car parking is limited close to the hostel, however the hostel provides free tickets for the large car park at the bottom of the hill (½ mile). Please contact the hostel for more details. The police will remove any cars blocking the road at the request of the coastguard. Full 24hr access required.
• Due to the hostel location set into the hillside, from the parking area the hostel is only accessible down 50 concrete steps.
• Two storey building with entrance levels on both storeys
• Good colour contrast to floor, walls and doorways throughout.
• No smoking or pets (service dogs welcome)
• Disability awareness courses as part of the Welcome Host scheme are undertaken by all of our staff.
• Washing machine available for use.
• Well-lit corridors.
• Emergency night staff available through out night.
• Emergency lighting and fire alarms fitted.  We ensure that all guests are evacuated in the event of fire or any emergency requiring evacuation.
• Mobile phone reception is poor within immediate vicinity
• Cardigan 4 miles, St Dogmaels 2 miles
• Carmarthen, Hatherfordwest and Fishguard Railway station are the closest and take about 1 hour by car.
