Ideally situated more than 1,000ft above sea level on Snowdon's famous Pyg Track, YHA Pen-y-Pass gives you a decent head start for an ascent to the summit.  Mountains lie in every direction but for those not interested in climbing, there are museums, railways, gardens and the North Wales coastline a short distance away.
