YHA Borth Access Statement

• YHA Borth is in the village of Borth, 7 miles from Aberystwyth and 11 miles from Machynlleth
• Approach off the A487 Aberystwyth to Machynlleth road.  Turn onto B4353 road to Borth.  YHA Borth is sited at the north end of the village close to the golf links and clearly signposted from B4353.

• Bus stops at the door - Arriva Cymru 509/10/11/12 from Aberystwyth Bus Station – hourly service.
• Train station within ¼ mile walk – Arriva Trains - main Birmingham to Aberystwyth line approx every two hours daily.
• Mobile phone mast sited near village – full mobile coverage of all main networks.
• Ample parking space directly opposite YHA Borth next to sea wall.  Surface uneven. Pavement on hostel side also uneven.  Short 10-metre drive to the door smooth and even tarmac with slight downward slope.
• Main access to the property is a side door – four small concrete steps with handrail lead to platform with additional step into entrance.
• Spacious foyer with level access to self-catering kitchen, laundry and drying room, games room
• Small step leads to main building giving access to: reception, TV lounge, dining room and staircases
• 11 separate bedrooms in two wings – all rooms on first and second floors up wide staircases with handrails
• All bedrooms have bunk beds and are low to the floor
• All bedrooms have washbasin in rooms
• Laundry room with washing machine and drying room
• Good natural and general lighting in all areas of the YHA
• Separate on-site classroom facility has wheelchair access ramp, wide entrance doors, a wheel in toilet and low level basin and two separate classrooms
• Emergency night staff on duty
• No smoking or pets (service dogs welcome)
• Emergency lighting and fire alarms fitted.  We ensure that all guests are evacuated in the event of fire or any emergency requiring evacuation
• Disability awareness courses as part of the Welcome Host scheme are undertaken by all our staff
• Loop System available at reception
