Making a Reservation

Step One – The initial booking

If, having read the brochure, you are attracted by Hartington Hall as a venue for your wedding, then please telephone us on 0870 770 5848 and ask to speak the managers William and Clare Greenwood. After talking directly to us, we can then arrange a mutually agreed time for you to come to the Hall to discuss arrangements in further detail. A provisional booking can be made at this point.

Please note that wedding bookings will only be taken by William or Clare – other staff are trained not to take these so please do not ask them to!

We would respectfully request that you do not ‘drop in’ at the Hall and expect to talk to a member of staff about wedding arrangements without an appointment. This is especially the case during weekends. We are exceptionally busy at these times and are unable to give you the proper time and consideration necessary, and certainly it is unlikely that our bedrooms can be viewed.  For this reason, therefore, William and Clare prefer to arrange meetings in the week if at all possible.

Step Two – Provisional booking

This is a temporary booking and will be held for two weeks after which we will require a deposit along with a completed booking form. If no deposit is received then the booking will be released.

A written estimate as discussed at the initial meeting can be sent to you or emailed along with a summary of your requirements and a receipt.

Step Three – Final Details

A further meeting is advised to discuss wines, menus, numbers etc. An ideal time may be around 12 weeks prior to your wedding. Again a written summary of what has been discussed will be sent to you or emailed.

From this meeting a final invoice will be raised and sent to you around 10 weeks before your big day, for payment in full 8 weeks before. Any additional costs incurred nearer the time (such as the Bar) can be settled during the wedding itself.

We would expect to be in regular contact with you in those last few weeks to finalise any last details.

Insurance

We would strongly advice you to take out a specific insurance policy to cover any unforeseen eventualities, including cancellation. These policies are inexpensive and there are many to choose from. The internet is an excellent place to start looking.
