Description:
On the banks of the River Cocker this 17th Century watermill is a 10-minute walk from the centre of this attractive market town. As it is self catering only, sample good food in the nearby pubs and restaurants. Poet William Wordsworth, Fletcher Christian who led the mutiny on 'The Bounty' and John Dalton, the world renowned atomic scientist, were born here or nearby and you too will be inspired by the town's charm and easy access to the quieter western fringes of the Lakes. The bedrooms are light and airy overlooking the river and the wood panelled and beamed common room/dining room offers a wealth of information about YHA's history as well as local information.
