How do you get to this Youth Hostel:
From Ambleside follow A593 to Coniston & the Langdales. After about 1 1/2 miles take the steep right hand turning signposted "High Close" (with YHA OS symbol). Continue to top of the hill (approx. 2 miles) until a left-hand switchback takes you to the hostel, 200 yards on the left.

Bus information:
Elterwater (1 mile) - 6 buses daily to Ambleside and the Langdale valley. Grasmere (2 miles) - hourly buses to Keswick,Ambleside, Windermere & Kendal.

Train information:
windermere rail station 12 miles away with direct trains to Manchester stations and connections to West Coast mainline.

National Express:
Ambleside/ Grasmere Swan Hotel - daily to London Victoria.
