How do you get to this Youth Hostel:
From Keswick follow signs to Borrowdale. YHA Derwentwater is 2 miles south on the Borrowdale road (B5289), 100 metres on the left past the turn off to Watendlath/Ashness Bridge. Walkers should follow the lakeside path from Keswick. Ferry stops 100m away on the Lake Shore for a spectacular journey.
Bus information:
Stagecoach Bus 78 stops at the bottom of the Drive. Regular service from Keswick. (Open-top bus in summer months)
Train information:
Nearest West Coast mainline station – Penrith (20 miles). Regular Stagecoach bus service (X4 or X5) from Penrith Station to Keswick with great views of Blencathra and Skiddaw. Also train station at Windermere (22 miles). Regular Stagecoach bus service (555) to Keswick – very scenic route past several Lakes.
