Castleton

YHA Castleton is located in the centre of the Peak District.  The village retains its ancient layout as designed by Henry II, but amenities have improved a little since then, and it now boasts six pubs and various cafes and shops selling local produce and gifts, including the famous Blue John Stone, which can only be found in the hills surrounding the village.

YHA Castleton sits at the base of Peveril Castle and is within walking distance of the four famous Caverns; Blue John Cavern, Peak Cavern, Treak Cliff Cavern and Speedwell Cavern. There is an excellent visitor centre and museum in the village.

For those wanting a more energetic break, there is excellent opportunity for walkers to explore the valley, and there are plenty of cycle routes nearby. There is some great climbing and bouldering in the area for those feeling a bit more adventurous.
