YHA Chester is situated south of the River Dee, just 10 minutes walk to the Roddee and another five into the town centre. This is an ideal location for a historical break in Britain’s only completely walled city. The hostel, a large, comfortable Victorian house built in 1856, offers easy access to the city centre and its cathedral just a mile away. Explore the Roman remains and wander through the historic medieval shopping galleries that line the streets. Go boating on the River Dee or visit the world famous zoo. Further afield, visit the Boat Museum and Blue Planet Aquarium at Ellesmere Port, the many historic houses of Cheshire, Jodrell Bank Science Centre, and the castles, coast and mountains of north Wales.
