York Festival of Food & Drink

19 September 2008 to 28 September 2008
Various locations throughout York

York's historic market place is hosting the annual Food and Drink Festival from September 19th to 28th.

The free gastronomic event has a focus on locally-produced culinary delights, with many of York's finest restaurants and cafes having a hearty presence at stalls across the city.

Several venues are used by the festival, with themed lunches as well as promotional meal deals on offer almost anywhere you turn.

Cookery workshops, visiting markets and tutored tasting sessions are also being organised for the event - the twelfth to date - in addition to the Maltings' infamous Ale Trail.

Beer enthusiasts who want to take part in that event should start at the Daleside Brewery Tent, before embarking on a journey to some, though perhaps not all, of the nearly-200 participating pubs.

YHA York is located approximately two miles from the heart of the city, ensuring easy access to all of the venues participating in the Food and Drink Festival.

A select number of the most popular events require advance tickets, which can be ordered by calling 01904 466687.
