Family Activities at Ilam Hall YHA

These activities will be running every half term and over the summer holidays for families staying at the hostel.
Orienteering, picture quizzes, and a range of board games will be available at all times. The following activities will be hosted by YHA staff every afternoon and evening and are subject to change on a daily basis.

Like the look of the activities on offer and just fancy a weekends taster? Here it is, included in the weekend, kayak/canoeing, high ropes, gorge scrambling and mountain biking. The course will start with your first nights accommodation on Friday. There will also be a get together at 7pm to meet the instructor and take a short walk up onto Dartmoor, the course will finish on the Sunday afternoon approximately at 4pm

Wizard Walks in Pembrokeshire

Enjoy a CD audio tour of the county, bringing alive the myths, legends and history of the area. Five quests take you on five walks to solve riddles using the maps and directions in the guide book. Fun for all the family and suitable for children from 4-12 years it is entertaining, fun and stimulates interest and awareness in wildlife and the countryside.
Quest 1: Journey to the Saintly Peninsular - St David's and find a secret sign
Quest 2: Listen to the battle of witchcraft and wizardry on Garn Fawr at Strumble Head
Quest 3: See the magic stones of Pentre Ifan near Newport and answer the Druids riddle
Quest 4: Visit the enchanted castle of Carew and discover its ghosts
Quest 5: Take a boat to Skomer Island and see the amazing seabirds
If you complete all five quests you can try your hand at the CD-ROM quiz included in the pack. If you solve all the riddles correctly you will be awarded with the Pembrokeshire Wizard's Certificate of Merit.
