Introduction to Climbing in Devon (10+)

Okehampton

Climbing is as much about balance, flexibility and thought as pure strength and is a sport open to all. YHA Okehampton is ideally situated on the edge of Dartmoor with the local crag within walking distance as well as the large granite Tors for which the moor is famous. There are three courses suitable for families and individuals. These courses start by using the climbing wall at YHA Okehampton and progress to a range of climbing venues around Devon.  Starting with basic rope work, belaying and gear selection leaving plenty of time to put theory into practice. All courses are run by YHA Okehampton’s own experienced instructors and all safety equipment is provided. More advanced courses are also available to groups of more than six.
