Hike the Line Takeover!

Hike the Line Takeover!

By Team Hike the Line

We are Team Hike the Line and we're going to be hiking over 80 miles in four days along the South Downs Way for charity over August Bank Holiday 2014. Oh.... and we'll each be doing it on a £1 a day food and drink budget.

Hike the Line started last year when two of us hiked the Peddars Way and Norfolk Coastal Path on £1 a day in September 2013. But this year we've grown and there are now seven members of Team Hike the Line - and we might still be growing...

The stage was set. YHA Manchester made a perfect venue for the first of the 2014 #LiveMoreYHA events with its convenient city centre location and the atmospheric setting of the main room. Walk a Country Mile

Walk a Country Mile

National Countryside Week 13-20th July 2014

Taking a walk is one of life’s greatest simple pleasures.

Walking is as close to free as it gets. You don't need fancy shoes, or clothes, or equipment.

The simple act of taking a walk connects us to landscapes, nature, communities and helps us to reflect and appreciate the importance of the countryside.

During National Countryside Week (13-20th July 2014) you can Walk a Country Mile in support of The Prince’s Countryside Fund.

The challenge is, can you name these famous Yorkshire places through the opening and closing wooden blinds?

The UK has over 300 different literary festivals each year, from the small-scale celebrations of obscure writers to ten-day celebrations of everything the written word has given us and is still to inspire.

For bookworms, a literary festival is the perfect excuse for a short getaway this year, so we've picked out some of our favourites:

The Independent Bath Literature Festival, February 28th - March 9th
